My Road to Recovery
In the later part of my career, I sustained injuries that changed my life, consuming both my internal and external resources. I was mentally, physically, and spiritually broken. It was a rough and lonely road to travel while trying to recover from injuries that take time and attention to heal. Having a background in the mental health industry as a Mental Health Technician and group therapy facilitator, I tried traditional methods of healing and recovery. Unfortunately, I experienced what many have: traditional methods offered little to no lasting solutions, and with a chronic nerve disorder, I needed a lifelong solution.
Disgusted and wanting to end the turmoil, I was willing to try just about anything to ease the pain and blur the memory of who I was before my injury, but nothing worked. When I looked in the mirror each morning, I was reminded of who I had become, and the truth was, I couldn't go back; I had to move forward from where I was. So, I began again, ready to move forward, with a new vision and a transformed perspective that is changing my life, one day at a time. Yours can too.
